They are 13% of the population but accounted for more than one in every four votes Hillary Clinton received.

And it was offensive.

reading comments here.. People making the case that he does not need to resign. It hurts my heart and turns my stomach in knots.

His record shows that he is progressive. It is clear in his younger years, he was quite reprehensible. This is true.
A man who calls for the removal of Confederate Statues is clearly not a racist.
People changed and Northam has.

look at someone's record on the issues that may surround a belief that they carry forward from such poor judgments in the past. Who has not made such errors in their own lives? It is what they have done with those mistakes that is important in their redemption. I have no knowledge of Gov. Northam's record in these matters, but it appears to me that many are just willing to condemn without looking at their actual behavior since such errors. This is the rush to judgment that we must be careful with and it is something that we as rational and emphatic human beings should avoid.
