Iowa poll: Only Biden beats Trump in Iowa.

For those who say they don't want Biden because he is "too old" or for some other reason he is currently the only Democrat who beats Iowa (which is a Midwestern swing state) according to a poll from Emerson.

Iowa: Trump vs. Harris Trump 53, Harris 47
Iowa: Trump vs. Warren Emerson Trump 52, Warren 48 Trump +4
Iowa: Trump vs. Biden Emerson Biden 51, Trump 49 Biden +2
Iowa: Trump vs. Sanders Emerson Trump 50, Sanders 49 Trump +1
Iowa: Trump vs. O'Rourke Emerson Trump 53, O'Rourke 47 Trump +6
Iowa: Trump vs. Gillibrand Emerson Trump 54, Gillibrand 46 Trump +8
Iowa: Trump vs. Brown Emerson Trump 55, Brown 46 Trump +9
Iowa: Trump vs. Warren vs. Schultz Emerson Trump 49, Warren 40, Schultz 11 Trump +9

Screw these stupid polls. No way only Biden can beat Trump in IA. It's nonsense. manor321 Feb 2019 #3
This is worrisome- especially given how Trump has greater than 55% disapproval in every poll andym Feb 2019 #4

But all these people have active operations in Iowa. I will support a candidate who shows they can beat Trump electorally nationwide.

I'm already sick of these polls and we have a year before anyone votes.

Any generic Democrat should be beating him in a state that is potentially up for grabs. Not a good sign, that's for sure.
Moroever the MOE is 3.4% so essentially Biden is tied with Trump as is Sanders.

Biden's biggest political asset right now is name recognition.

Once the others truly begin to campaign, the dynamics will shift.

I've had enough of these early polls driving the narrative!

If you look at past presidential elections Iowa has been a swing state in the Midwest. The election in 2016 was lost electorally in the Midwest.

I'll be looking for younger candidates, which would be everyone else running.

that Emerson has been like Rasmussen in their polls of late

I'm not sure why that is but I noticed it - it kind of jumped out

As well, the Dem candidates suffer from not being as well known at this point.
A year from now, when the Iowa caucus happens, Iowans will be more acquainted with them and their numbers should shift
