For those who say they don't want Biden because he is "too old" or for some other reason he is currently the only Democrat who beats Iowa (which is a Midwestern swing state) according to a poll from Emerson.

(5,444 posts)Any generic Democrat should be beating him in a state that is potentially up for grabs. Not a good sign, that's for sure.
Moroever the MOE is 3.4% so essentially Biden is tied with Trump as is Sanders.

Once the others truly begin to campaign, the dynamics will shift.
I've had enough of these early polls driving the narrative!

(32,029 posts)If you look at past presidential elections Iowa has been a swing state in the Midwest. The election in 2016 was lost electorally in the Midwest.

I'm not sure why that is but I noticed it - it kind of jumped out
As well, the Dem candidates suffer from not being as well known at this point.
A year from now, when the Iowa caucus happens, Iowans will be more acquainted with them and their numbers should shift
