The Queen gets money from the civil list, as does Prince Philip. Prince Charles gets his income from the Duchy of Cornwall, Prince William & Prince Harry get their money from their jobs (both in the armed forces), a trust fund established by (or possibly in the name of) Princess Diana and their father's duchy income.

Queen Elizabeth II is one of the richest women in the world - on paper. As monarch she owns the crown jewels, palaces, artwork, etc. but in practice she couldn't sell any of it off without permission from parliament and any income from a potential sale would probably go to the treasury rather than the Queen. The Crown Estate is a private company and any income from the company go back to the treasury rather than the monarchy, a portion of that income is paid back to the Queen as the civil list. She gets millions each year from the civil list, but the Crown Estate company earns a lot more for the country.

I knew Charles had direct personal holdings as Duke of Cornwall. I mistakenly assumed HM the Queen had something similar. At any rate, Will and Harry are most likely spending their own money.

One of the perks of being rich already. Having Prince Harry be known as staying there might be enough for them to be thrilled at. Maybe less famous corporatists pay the 35K freight. And probably write it off, too because it was for a "business meeting."
