For a family of 4, that was $16,200 by itself off of their taxable income. And then they added the standard deduction of 12,700 or itemized to get at least $28,900 off the taxable income. By contrast, now all they have is $24,000.

It seems they do have a breaking point: their money. As long as they're not hurt, Trump is cool. They probably wonder why he doesn't double tax just the poor, the Blacks, the Muslims, and the gays.

that the small increase they got in income came from their refunds.

I understood what Trump was doing, I am retired and I control my withholdings. I kept the same withholdings so my return will be OK.

By the bye, his tax forms aren't any simpler, everyone must file a 1040 now. His 1040 form isn't easier it's just shorter which to me makes it more complicated. It certainly can't be filed on a post card.

trumps a con man , and over and over again repeated his lies about this tax scam he and the gop passed would benefit them, and they believed him. With him you'll be closer to the truth if you just believe the opposite of his wild claims that are almost always the opposite of the truth. Remember he said how the rich were upset with him for the tax scam bill , which they weren't, and were instead given huge tax returns , and now we're paying for them. He played them , and again they believed his lies. They'll get even more tired of him as the economy crashes while he starts a war somewhere . Many are running from him and the gop now in large numbers , and they just thought the Mid Terms was bad for them.
