Did some sadist shut off the power for shits'n'giggles? Why didn't they move the inmates somewhere warmer?

Something got seriously fucked up there.

But then, Con-Ed reported that power was on, but that the prison was experiencing an internal problem. And that is what happened. Something about overloaded switch circuits, what ever that means (I'm no electrician.), but the important thing here is that Bureau of Prisons initially lied about the problem. It had nothing to do with Con-Ed. And they damn well knew that. WTF ?

What I don't understand is this -- the power went out LAST Saturday. What the actual fuck were they doing to ameliorate the conditions in all that time ? NOTHING. These men had no heat, no hot food or water, no light, no jackets, no extra blankets. Has the Bureau of Prisons ever heard of generators ? WTF ?

The prison said that there were lights on in the common areas. Ok, but the inmates were not permitted to access the common areas as they were all in lock-down. Sitting in the dark, in the frigid cold - temps dropped to 2 degrees F - with no way to keep warm. WTF ?

Not everyone in that prison is an inmate. Some are just awaiting trial.

This is just another example of how little respect this fascist administration has for people. ANY people. This is some twisted shit.
