Only wish USA had same rates of poverty as Norway

The richest 10 percent of the population in Norway controls 21.2 percent of the entire nation’s wealth. The poorest 10 percent of the population controls only 3.8 percent of the whole country’s wealth.

What we do is wrong:

Our healthcare system protects the investors, not the patients. How many homeless people have mental health issues that their insurance weaseled out of?
How many wars have we sent our children to in the last 50 years? How we care for them shows in the large percentage of homeless who are vets.
Our tax system rewards the top 0.1%, at the expense of the bottom 90%.

I would happily pay what Norwegians do in taxes if I got all the benefits they have.

Norway has great wealth from a particular natural resource, North Sea oil reserves.
The people of Norway share in this wealth as the government insists that corporations
and stockholders pay the people fairly for this resource. Our candidates should be telling
American voters “You know how they’re always telling you the U.S. is blessed with all these
great natural resources? Do you ever wonder where your share is?”.

for decades, in good part because they have much higher voter turnout.

Liberalism dominating government policy is the difference.
