This is who our government is right now, an American horror

AP West Region @APWestRegion

US wants to avoid pulling what may be thousands of migrant children from 'sponsor' homes to rejoin parents, saying it "could be traumatic to the children."

SAN DIEGO (AP) — The Trump administration says it would require extraordinary effort to reunite what may be thousands of migrant children who have been separated from their parents and, even if it could, the children would likely be emotionally harmed.

Jonathan White, who leads the Health and Human Services Department’s efforts to reunite migrant children with their parents, said removing children from “sponsor” homes to rejoin their parents “would present grave child welfare concerns.” He said the government should focus on reuniting children currently in its custody, not those who have already been released to sponsors.

“It would destabilize the permanency of their existing home environment, and could be traumatic to the children,” White said in a court filing late Friday, citing his years of experience working with unaccompanied migrant children and background as a social worker.

The administration outlined its position in a court-ordered response to a government watchdog report last month that found many more migrant children may have been split from their families than previously reported. The government didn’t adequately track separated children before a federal judge in San Diego ruled in June that children in its custody be reunited with their parents...

I recall that Tom Delay, remember this monster?, was involved in some sort of scam that brought expectant mothers into a Christian clinic for birthing so their children would be adopted rather than aborted. Anyone remember anything about this? Are Republicans involved in some child placement scheme far larger than anyone can imagine?

child trafficking. That's exactly what his administration has done/is doing. We as citizens should NOT accept the bullshit excuses they're giving and we should demand accountability. Now they're pretending to care about the mental wellbeing of the kids they ripped form their families? AYFKM???

How can we virtually kidnap those kids and not make them full citizens? They are so young that they will bond to people that treat them well and who have nicer homes and food, that is the sad thing, many will not want to go back to their previous life. They should never have been separated from their parents.

and will be adults in a few years. I know they will not all be able to reconnect with their parents, I'm just saying they should be able to bring them here if they can.
