He continues to contribute to his community and the world with his good work, his books and occasional comments. He is a genuinely good man and tRump is not fit to knock the dirt off President Carter’s workboots.

... President Jimmy Carter has spent much of his retirement volunteering for Habitats for Humanity. It's a worthy organization of volunteers who go to underserved poverty-stricken areas (mostly outside the US) and build homes for the poorest of the poor. The program is sponsored by private donations from generous Americans, as far as I know there are no government funds involved. The volunteers who undertake this work are required to raise their own travel funds, besides donating their time and services.

so of course the military industrial complex didn't like that. They needed the Iran hostage crisis to claim he's weak so Reagan can come in and make America great again with massive military spending that was completely unnecessary.

And decades later we still have those damn Russians messing with us.

for him. He was way ahead of our party in his support for progressive ideas and values.

My support for clean, renewal energy sources began in 1979 when he installed solar panels on the roof of the White House. Every time I drive past the Arizona Public Service Solar Farm, or their nuclear plant, I am reminded of him.

I stayed up on election night 1976 until I made sure he won. I was in high school then.
