4. I thought it was Jan-Feb, that they hatched in March?

I could be wrong, but I've been watching them for years, and I was pretty sure it was Feb when the eggs arrived, at least for Decorah.

I haven't watched them for a couple years so I might be off by a months. It takes about ten weeks from hatching to fledging and they usually leave the nest in early to mid June... they sit on the eggs for a couple weeks, I think.

8. Sadly, Father Decorah disappeared last year

He disappeared a couple weeks after the eggs hatched. Mother Decorah raised all 3 successfully all on her own. She is an amazing eagle.

So she has a new mate this year. Earlier, it seemed as if another eagle was trying to drive her away, but the new dad helped her defend it, and they have been working on the nest together.
