(10,272 posts)That the Kentucky taxpayers who put her in office in the first place shouldn't have to foot the bill...because she was violating the law when she refused to issue the marriage certificates .
Money. The only thing that can come between a Republican and their God.
Lol.
I agree with the poster stating her church should pick up the tab.
Or, Mitch McConnell...he's ROLLING in Dirty Russian Mob-State Money.

(43,049 posts)No! Absolutely no taxpayers paying her bills for refusing to do her job. Maybe some sympathy if she quite her job over her beliefs, but not for not doing it.
Pass the hat around her "supporters" who yapped and clamored but can't be found when the bills are due.

(25,941 posts)It takes 50 years for things happening elsewhere in the world to reach KY, so you've bought yourself loads of time.
Lots of dixiecrats in KY hung on to the D long after others in the south made the switch to R; don't ask me why. Takes a little longer to reach some of the more remote hills'n'hollers.

This is how the rethugs think. Dems have to pay fines, but not rethugs, bc they gots gahd on their side, which makes them Right! lol

you didn't serve the taxpayers. Taxpayers are allowed to marry and you didn't serve them - so they shouldn't serve you.

(46,122 posts)This is the act of desperate attorneys who know that their client lacked the funds before they filed their complaint. And while they likely asked for Attorneys Fees as part of their "Prayer" (no pun intended), AF are considered only if you win the controversy. She lost.
There is no legal precedence to award Attorneys Fees if you're on a "Mission from God". If this were reversed on appeal, it would encourage a plethora of (mostly) frivolous actions based on someone's religious views being offended or someone not being allowed to "freely" practice their religion.

(25,862 posts)She needs to be confronted by this at every turn.
I am so freaking tired of the hypocrisy of those who claim to be Christians, of those who claim that agnostics or atheists cannot possibly be moral because they don't kow-tow to the punishment ethic of their version of Christianity.
Most non believers I know live vastly more moral lives than the out-there-in-front-of-you Christians will ever live.
