I'm having a harder time believing the number of apologists and conspiracy theorists here on DU.

Honestly, that's no more ridiculous (and probably more evidence supporting it) than some of what's been thrown around on here the past few days.

And for clarification, no I don't believe he's been a GOP plant all along. I'm not some conspiracy nut.

....while I don't necessarily believe this is anything more than a racist having it bite him in the ass, there's actually far more evidence at the ready to realistically claim he was a Republican plant all along than there is that Republicans are somehow making all of this up for their own gain.
