He has the right to do that. The problem is that he is at the same time dismissing and disrespecting anything that the chosen respondent, Stacy Abrams, might be saying to the larger general public on television—effectively, trying to preempt her in real time.

I'd say this is something that neither Democrats, nor women, nor African Americans will take too kindly to. Of course, 95% of them will not know it is even going on. So, I guess, meh.
