Connecticut state rep proposes 50% ammo tax increase

Good for her- but, the responses to her are almost all RW trolls declaring their love for their guns and ammo. She defeated a 12 term incumbent Democrat in the primaries last year, so kind of a local AOC

text of her tweet
I’ve introduced HB 5700, a 50% tax increase on ammunition. It doesn’t apply to military or law enforcement. I’m hearing push back about the need to protect one's home... but how much ammunition does someone really need to do that? #gunsense #enough

That's pretty much what I was getting at with the oversight comment :) (nt) mr_lebowski Feb 2019 #7
My thought too. Don't worry about gun control. Just restrict ammo use. LiberalFighter Feb 2019 #5

Might be a good idea to offer the exemption to Gun Ranges (as long as there's good oversight wherein Range owner can only sell discounted bullets to people using them on-site).

That takes away one of the reasonable counter-arguments ...

gun range owners get an exemption, but I'd also say that ammo purchased there needs to be accounted for as either being spent or returned to the gun range.
