Bill Cosby, Isolated No More, Joins Other Inmates in Prison

As he adjusted to incarceration, Bill Cosby spent his first four months in prison in a special unit, isolated from other inmates, out of concern for his safety at SCI Phoenix, a maximum-security facility outside Philadelphia.

But last week authorities moved him from so-called administrative segregation to join the general population at a wing that houses other inmates, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections.

Amy Worden, a spokeswoman for the corrections department, said Mr. Cosby made the move on Jan. 28, though she would not specify the wing to which he was sent.
Ms. Worden said ... that the prison does not have a special area reserved for older inmates.

“Being released into the general population means he will have shared meal times, shared yard time, all out-of-cell time will be among other individuals,” said Jennifer Storm, the state’s victim advocate who is familiar with the prison where Mr. Cosby is serving a three-to-10 year sentence for sexual assault.

Cosby behind bars for the entire 10 years. If he lives till the end of his term Cosby very well could be penniless. 👌🏻

soap on a rope and not drop it. Having worked in a state prison I can tell you the food ain’t all that. I’m sure Cosby has money in his commissary account, so he can get snacks at the prison store. Does Cosby have any civil suits against him? Maybe he should be made to work a prison job. Like the Main Dining Room?

"Bill Cosby played a doctor on TV but now he apparently thinks he’s a real one."

"He has assumed the role of his character Dr. Heathcliff Huxtable from The Cosby Show and is playing doctor behind bars and dishing out medical advice to inmates.

The 81-year-old, “believes he learned a lot about how to cure people and speak to patients after playing Dr. Huxtable for nearly eight years on ‘The Cosby Show,’” the source said.

“He is accepting appointments from inmates to help diagnose anything from a cold to obesity. If he thinks they’re incurable, he refers them to the infirmary with a ‘preliminary diagnosis,’” the source admits.

“He told us that he wore a bedsheet like an ‘apron’ to get into character,” the source told the news outlet. “He said his medical skills are ‘a tad rusty’ since he played Dr. Huxtable, but he’s still ‘hip’ to the ‘role.’”

which by releasing him in general population is likely to happen.

If we as a society want corporal punishment, we should allow a court to decide that and be administered in a civilized fashion - instead of pretending to be about non violence while winking and nodding about prison rape and abuse as some sort of poetic justice. The reality is prisons are run by gangs and most abuse involves larger/stronger inmates abusing younger, weaker and elderly ones - and has nothing to do with 'justice' at all.
