Prime Time Sports closing in Colorado Springs

KKTV

The store made headlines last fall when it announced a boycott on Nike products in the wake of Nike's Colin Kaepernick campaign, and before that canceled an autograph appearance by former Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall following his decision to take a knee during the national anthem in 2016.

The owner told 11 News there are a few reasons he decided to close the store down after 21 years, one being the Nike boycott.

"Being a sports store and not having NIke jerseys is kind of like being a milk store without milk or a gas station without gas. They have a virtual monopoly on jerseys. There is no other option," Martin said.

...snip...

“As much as I hate to admit this, perhaps there are more Brandon Marshall and Colin Kaepernick supporters out there than I realized,” said Martin.

It's hardly about supporting two football players who took a stance. It's about trying to raise awareness of disturbing patterns of police violence.

Sometimes the chasm in this country is so wide, I don't know if it can ever be bridged.

Never, ever talk religion and politics with customers. Stay as far away from those as you can.

I worked retail for 40 years, and that's one of the first lessons learned in my first job. The sales manager would fire your ass if he heard you giving out political opinions on the sales floor.

This guy is a total dumbass and deserved losing his repuke ass business.

The Brandon Marshall you are referring to was a wide receiver.

Article clearly says linebacker.
