$60-80 MILLION. Colin Kaepernick beat the NFL

The NFL has a really horrific record in court. No wonder they settled.

That being said, there are multiple figures around the NFL that have a rough estimate of how much money Kaepernick actually received in this settlement. According to Mike Freeman of Bleacher/Report, NFL team officials are speculating that the former 49ers quarterback was paid in the range of $60 to $80 million. He continued to say that it wasn't an official figure, but all of the speculation voiced by the NFL higher-ups agreed on this range.

Brain damage. Good for him. I hope the NFL learned a lesson here, but I suspect the political leanings of the team owners will get in the way.

2. I'd guess this is bittersweet for Kaepernick. He's trained his whole life to be a pro athlete

You dont get to that level without intensely loving what you do. To know you'll never be playing again at that level has to be a tough pill to swallow even as he will be forever remembered as a civil rights hero who sacrificed everything.

But I think he'll be remembered for far longer than Brady.

If the urge to play is still great, perhaps he should look at the Canadian league. Lots of different rules and strategy, though.

Remember he didn't bring this on himself. One of the 49'ers TV announcers noticed him sitting down at a pre-season game he wasn't even dressed for. He wa doing it on his own calling no attention to himself.

Than get deposed in court and have people view their dirty laundry... To me it looks like they just admitted they colluded to block him from playing and now they are paying the price..

Still a significant settlement, especially if he gets picked up by a team.

What does tom brady make these days? My guess is colin would make more than his settlement if he could work for 5 or so years.
