But I have actually met someone who purchased caskets direct. They have two in their barn, heavily wrapped and sealed from the elements. The reason is because they are extremely expensive at the mortuary and he saved thousands doing this-and leaves his children with one less decision when he and his wife pass on.

He also has a small family cemetery that he maintains and will be the place of interment. His plans are on file with his doctor, his pastor, his attorney and a local funeral director.

We would all do our families a favor by having these things sorted out ahead of time for them. My brother died suddenly in a car accident a few years ago, and we were left with having to make all of the arrangements. Sitting with my elderly mother while the funeral director tried politely to explain that my brother was "a big guy", and they only had two caskets on hand that he would fit in, was heartbreaking to watch her endure. Then, I felt embarrassed to ask which one was cheaper, but let's face it that's going to come into anyone's mind. Especially when both available ones were more than double the price shown here.

That said, if the review gets a few more people to think about planning for the inevitable while getting a chuckle in the process, I think this is a great idea someone had.

Not built to last but purely for the beauty of her life.

Mine might be an urn with the inscription "Well, I guess I wasn't immortal after all." Not sure that any of my kids would want it, tho.

Our son has property in the forest, and we are having him put the ashes there. and plant a tree above.. Same for me when my time comes..

Back to the earth.. No one has to worry... Cemeteries are worthwhile for historians, but once the last person who knew you is gone...so are you..

I also like to look at the products customers bought that viewed this item

Gauged wire; 8 gauge dispensing needles (for thick liquids) and a pipe crimping tool.

related products:

Aside from cremation urns there is a Christmas outfit for a horse; 8oz container of bay leaves, sawdust and a 7oz hammer.
