"Pelosi sent the letter to both Democrats and Republicans on Wednesday night, a rare occurrence..."

Democrats will introduce legislation Friday to terminate the emergency proclamation and Pelosi is urging House colleagues on both sides of the aisle to support the resolution, according to a letter obtained by POLITICO on Wednesday.

"I write to invite all Members of Congress to cosponsor Congressman Joaquin Castro’s privileged resolution to terminate this emergency declaration," Pelosi wrote, noting that the House will "move swiftly to pass this bill."

"The President’s decision to go outside the bounds of the law to try to get what he failed to achieve in the constitutional legislative process violates the Constitution and must be terminated," she added.

Pelosi sent the letter to both Democrats and Republicans on Wednesday night, a rare occurrence that underscores the seriousness with which the speaker plans to try to block Trump's effort to go around Congress and build his border wall.

We’re in a national nightmare with Trump as president, but at least we now have at least part of Congress on the side of the rule of law—a nice change from Republicans supporting every idiotic thing Trump wants to do, like selling nuclear technology to Saudi Arabia, the largest exporter of Islamic terrorism in the Middle East.

The House will pass the bill, I think the Senate will pass the bill. I think that Trump will veto the bill.
Will there be enough votes in the House and Senate to override Trump's veto?

I bring this up because it could affect the law suits that are being filed. The SC can very well say that it is not taking up the case, that it is leaving the decision up to Congress.

to spare the rethugs and drumpf "embarrassing" votes by abusing his power to kill votes by not bringing them to the floor, but he can't stop this one. And drumpf dug this hole for himself.

the law suits are going to the Supreme Court. The SC could refuse to hear the case and leave the decision up to Congress.

She and her team will be pushing hard to get a veto proof majority for this proclamation. They will get it, not by trading votes, but because it's the right thing to do. Schumer will be doing the same thing in the Senate. There, the challenge will be greater.

yet his base seem not to waver. Or, at least his numbers always rebound.

I never thought I'd live to see the day when such a blatant corrupt, mendacious imbecile would be our president. I knew Rs were corrupt hypocrites and a lot of Americans were belligerently ignorant, but I guess I underestimated just how bad it was.

Still, I hope you're right that there is a limit to what he can get away with.
