Trump is "testing" nicknames for field of opponents

https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/430525-trump-working-on-labels-for-2020-dems-report

The article claims that Trump is testing names with his White House staff. I wonder if the old nicknames (Little Marco, Crooked Hillary, etc) were field tested by Cambridge Analytica. Or is he just an unfocused bully?

I wonder if he uses a Google-based nickname generator?

1. That "strategy" MAY work for his "base," but it won't garner a single vote

from Democrats and/or Independents.

This is an election, not rolling out a product.

2. "Trump", his name, his office, it's all for sale. It's a brand, a product.

I only hope he holds a political event at "Just a Bozo on this Bus Stadium and Dive Bar". I could sell naming rights, too, if I were president.

Anyway, the strategy didn't seem to hurt him in 2016, so of course he'll "double-down".

14. It's not designed to "get" votes

It's designed to redistribute votes amongst his opposition.

If he can make a bad nickname stick, Dems may move from one Dem candidate to another, nullifying or delaying a critical mass. Elizabeth Warren may be able to comment on this.

As an example, While no one here is on the side of Kim Jung Un, quite a few have picked up and use some of Kim Jung Uns nickname/insult of Trump (Dotard).

3. I can imagine Fat Donnie sitting around the Oval Office brainstorming.

Think of all the taxpayers dollars that are being wasted on his staff's salaries while they play his childish game. Let's face it, there's a reason none of these guys will list their time working at the WH on their resumes after they leave.

... like strategizing their brackets for March Madness.

Brainstorming nicknames might be among the least destructive things this staff could be working on.

If it just wasn't so damn sad. The alleged leader of the free would, and this is what he spends time thinking about?

president of the United States. This sad, petty, frightened little man is our leader, and he has nothing better to do than wile away his days thinking up boorish nicknames to tag his opponents. Not that I'm complaining mind you, it's better than having him actually engaged in real governing.
