Secretary of State Mike Pompeo "ruled out" a bid for the Senate from Kansas in 2020.

"I love Kansas," he said Thursday of the state he served in the House prior to leading the State Department during a live interview on "Today."

Pompeo added that he will serve as secretary of state as long as Trump will allow him.

"It's ruled out," he said of a possible bid. "I'm here, I'm loving it."

If he thinks that serving as Trump's Secretary of State is something he'll be doing beyond January 20, 2021, he might want to reconsider. And if he loves Kansas so much, maybe he should get a head start by getting his house there into shape by the end of next year.

are farmers, most likely hurt by the Trump tariffs, and live in small cities and suburbs. My former home, Johnson County, elected a Native American woman this time. If they have to choose between their taxes being given to poor people and to build infrastructure projects, maybe even housing at Ft. Riley, and their taxes being given to East Coast billionaires, they will choose to vote for the Democrat. Just my opinion after living there for 30 years and being a state employee.
