Roger Stone will face a judge later today after his Instagram posts.
"He's going to, at a minimum, get a tongue lashing," says ex-Clinton WH Counsel @quinnjack. "If stupidity were a crime, Roger would be in jail for the rest of his life." http://cnn.it/2SSwDUu

(22,143 posts)this is what stone wants, to become a martyr (thrown into jail)...for some case or other. Better thing to do is make him pick up trash for a couple of weeks, since he's so good at dispensing it.

(18,837 posts)"Tongue lashing" = victory lap.
"Jail" = as you say, martyrdom. And Trump will use that to ignite the MAGAts even more.
He's a cosplay cockroach.

(146,317 posts)withdraw his release conditions. Instead, I expect her to tighten those conditions and increase the level of her "gag order." I think she'll give Roger Stone another chance, but with strict conditions.
Will Stone do what she orders? Likely not. The next time, she'll remand him to jail until his trial.
Her decision will not affect our overall judicial system, which often gives defendants the benefit of the doubt, as it should. Another chance. That, I predict, is what she'll give Roger Stone. Then, I predict that Roger Stone will soon do yet another stupid thing.

(146,317 posts)However, I'm not a judge. Maybe that's why I'm not a judge. I think the judge in this case is going to weigh everything and give Stone another chance to behave properly. I don't think that's possible for Stone, though.

(26,355 posts)... then tell him if he so much as twitches again, he'll be locked up until the end of his trial.
Oh, fuck it, just lock him up until trial.

(146,317 posts)I think she'll probably decide to err on the side of caution and just tighten up the terms of his release before trial. She has to consider potential appeals and avoid the appearance of prejudice in this case. She knows that, and that's why I think she'll punt and give Stone another chance to behave. However, I do not believe that Stone is capable of that.

(11,885 posts)Will only make future threats much worse against our judicial system employees next time. He should be made an example of against doing this, and not allowing this type of suggestive and vague threats to only be normalized .
