There's different types of CBD oil from what I understand. One from the cannabis plant , and one from the hemp plant. Plus with many different strains of the cannabis plant each one could also be different. In non legal states they have the hemp plant version I think its approved in all states but not sure. Without regulatory oversite manufacturing it, and testing it , its unlikely even those are all the same from different manufacturers, so it probably is hard to be sure until clinical trails are fully done, and standards are set. I have heard many are helped from using it with many issues, including cancer, pain, and seizures.

lack of knowledge/research into the subject. The tldr version is that what you buy in the coffee shop is worthless. CBD has some promise, but we have not yet researched it effectively - nor do we know what it could be good for.

https://www.vox.com/the-goods/2018/11/1/18024806/cbd-oil-vape-hemp

Both researchers who work with CBD and professionals who actually grow the raw material — those who best understand this compound and how it interacts with the human body, the people with the most investment in and knowledge about it — are skeptical to the point of scornful about consumer CBD products.

Esther Blessing is a professor and researcher at NYU who performs and reviews clinical trials on CBD’s effectiveness in treating post-traumatic stress, anxiety, substance addiction, and other conditions. Speaking about widely available and unregulated CBD oils, she says, “This is the main scam, snake oil thing going on out there now.”

Growing older includes aches, pains, sleep changes, and a host of small ailments. Started using a water soluble CBD product several months ago with aches disappearing almost immediately. Sleeping like a baby. Even stopped for a week to see if pains came back. Sure did and stopped again when I continued.
Also working well with my dogs. I have two sibling labs nearing 11 years old. Female had started showing signs of stiffness and male has never stopped being a slightly hyper puppy. Small dosage has female acting frisky again and male calmed down.
I know a good number of people who have similar stories.
One thing I suspect is that for generations the human race had a very symbiotic relationship with hemp. We used it and wore it for centuries and know that we discover that it has lots of physiological benefits to our well being is no surprise.

17. CBD oil cured my skin cancer
Thu Feb 21, 2019, 01:04 PM
Feb 2019

I was diagnosed with skin cancer on my face. I was referred to a dermatologist but I couldn't get an appointment for 3 months. I had heard that cbd helps cure cancer. I didn't really think it would work, but I didn't think it would hurt either, so I ordered a highly concentrated form of cbd oil. Every day I put it on my skin cancer before I went to bed. It started to form a very scaly scab. I scrapped it off. It took another week for the scab to fully form and I scrapped it off again. This time, the lesion was smaller. I repeated for one month and the skin cancer completely disappeared. I don't even have a scar. I started having the same lesions on my back. My hubby did the same thing with the oil and now I have absolutely no lesions any more and no scars.

This stuff does work. At least for skin cancer.

Well obviously I haven’t been on here since the Obama presidential 2012 election. Got my 4 more years. Yeah ! !

Regarding CBD oil. Too many people comment on something they haven’t experienced or did’t get the dosage worked out when they did try CBD oil
I had a MRI on my lower back 11 years ago. The orthopedic doctor said only pain meds would help my severe back pain issues. Been on and off them for 25 years.
Spent time in California and found a medical clinic that recommended a product from Oregon. They said the company test their products and get their CBD from local growers from Oregon. Took awhile to get my dosage just right. I have been pain free for 6 months now. Not one episode of very sharp pain in my back that would leave me laid up until I got pain pills. Believe me it works for me and is not a FAD in my book.

Please if you haven’t had pain problems I beg you not to comment on something this important for people who have . This can help people and they need facts not opinions.

I left this forum because it has too much CRAP information and here we go again. I got burned out typing post.
This brought me back for one last time.
Feeling much better since I discovered CBD. That’s all and good bye for another couple of years.

Random stuff purchased in states where cannabis is not legal could be anything.

It seems likely to me that some small amount of THC makes it more likely the CBD is the real deal (1:16 is a typical mix) but then its possible the effects of the THC and CBD are conflated.

What's needed is some solid scientific research.

There's definitely a lot of nonsense about CBD, just as there is with other herbal remedies.

The drug war against cannabis makes no sense, especially when the more dangerous tobacco and alcohol are legal.

Thu Feb 21, 2019, 02:02 PM

Spouse used CBD oil mixed in coconut oil in edibles to get off increasing amount of opioids the licensed "Pain Specialist" prescribed for his chronic Psoriatic Arthritis. We would make and bag up about 12 cups of caramel corn that would last him around 3 to 4 days, with the occasional brownie mix in mini-brownie (2 bite) size for a change of pace, because we could pretty accurately assess the dosage he was getting per serving and were able to tweak it to what would be enough to get him out of his recliner and moving for the day after one serving.

His regular doctor used to just prescribe what he needed over a year's time - about 50 pills for the bad days - until the Feds "cracked down" on opioid abuse and required people see "Pain Specialists" and take their drugs on a daily basis to "manage" their intake of pain pills. After two months of that approved, main-stream pain doctor, he had to keep taking the drugs and he was experiencing more pain and needed those pills in higher dosages as time went on, so we turned to CBD oil to get him off the drug roller coaster.

We got the CBD oil mix from a friend of the kidlet who was growing specific high CBD concentration strains to supply her grandmother's needs (similar inflammation based pain) before she finally got her license to grow and distribute for Medical purposes. The one time he went to a dispensary to get commercial CBD oil, it really wasn't as good and didn't bake very well.

The CBD oil worked; he only had about a week of minor withdrawal symptoms as he was easing off his last prescription of Hydrocodone, which he had managed to get a month and a half saved up before the "pain doctor" cut him off because he talked about wanting to try alternatives to the pills and the doctor thought that meant the pain was really "all in his head" and spouse just wanted to do the evil pot and bake his mind like all the other slackers.

Spouse doesn't take CBD oil any more, but we know what percentages of CBD per gram will work if he has a bad day and I have to bring out the popcorn utensils (always ensure your utensils for making edibles is separate from your regular cooking utensils). We just have to make sure the QA on the product is accurate.

But not the garbage from the internet. Also, the most effective stuff is a mix of cbd and rso. Grow you own if your in a legal state. Or find a dispensary. My mother in law had a diagnosed Melonoma the size of a half dollar, jet black. Her doc appt to wasnt for 3 weeks, so we put straight rso on it every day and watched it shrink to less than the size of a dime and turn light pink. Doc was shocked. He did cut out a little but he said the margins were a fraction of what he was planning. If the doc appt was 6 weeks out I am convinced he would have had nothing to cut out.

Buying it of Amazon usually guarantees, that you're getting a bogus product. Buy it from a dispensary, Period. I use both a Hemp derived, and a Cannabis derived set of products, that work well, after trying many others, in a salve form, for body pains (Knees, Ankles, Shoulders, and Hip pains, from arthritis). Some strains may not work as well as others for each individual when researching, but always get it from a close to source vendor.
