We're also flying in bunnies from all over the country, except stupid California. Melania will be handing out baskets of goodies to the kiddies! It won't be creepy!!!!!

Trump eggs will be available for purchase! Your favorite bunny will make an appearance!

I will never, ever fully understand the astonishing blindness and tone-deafness of 45’s supporters.

For most of my life, I naively trusted in the common sense of most Americans, excluding the historically deranged right-wing fringe, who were a major laughingstock for decades.

My biggest disappointment comes from those fellow-citizens who now would apparently be quite content to live in a fascist state, ruled by a dictator. These are the same people who scream about “liberty,” “patriots,” “freedom,” etc. Meanwhile, the store is being robbed blind.

I’ve shaken my head so much in the past two-plus years, it’s a wonder that it’s still attached to my neck.

I am continually astonished that this shit-show is still going on and there are so many people who see it as normal, while I and most others I know feel like we are living in a never-ending episode of The Twilight Zone.

We have lives to lead, responsibilities, etc., and we continue on, but several times a day it hits: America is going full-fascist? Donald Trump, a smug, preening, dangerous buffoon is actually PRESIDENT? The meetings with high-level Russians behind closed doors with no witnesses? A significant number of Americans are okay with this? Don’t they recognize the avalanche of warnings that all point to dictatorship? Can’t they see that 45 is destroying everything he touches?

On the heels of that cascade of sickening thoughts comes an even darker reality: there are many U.S. citizens with whom I cannot exist, now and forever more. Their views run utterly contrary and destructive to everything I was taught by my (Republican!) parents, in school, church, Scouts, college, and colleagues working in higher education. You watch a documentary or read a book on the rise of fascism in 1930s Europe, and grasp the identical pattern unfolding today, here, in one of the countries that went to great lengths to defeat tyranny, blind hatred and lawlessness a mere 75 years ago.

As you so well put it: “living in a never-ending episode of The Twilight Zone.” And if/when it does end, will we survive our collective close-call? All I can say for sure is THANK YOU and the others here and in my life who do get it, and are as deeply disturbed and concerned as we are.
