Former U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara said Sunday that it would be "odd and unusual" if special counsel Robert Mueller's final report isn't made public.
Bharara said during an interview on CNN's "State of the Union" that he's "optimistic" the report will be released because "theres so much public interest."
"Theres been this long investigation over a period time that it would seem odd and unusual if at the end of the day, we didnt get the gist of what was going on," he added.

Mueller is investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election and possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Moscow. At the conclusion of his investigation, Mueller is required to submit a written report to the attorney general.

Don't get me wrong I like Mr. Bharara, but this is some mealy-mouth stuff right here.
How about "IT WOULD BE PRETTY GD F***NG SUSPICIOUS IF TRUMP TRIES TO HIDE THE REPORT FROM THE PEOPLE OF THE US?!!!?!"

(22,056 posts)Mr. Bharara is privy to a lot of information that he cannot legally reveal. Accordingly, I'm not surprised that he has to measure his words carefully.
It's fairly clear from his public commentaries that Mr. Bharara is not a fan of Trump's. The man is a former Federal attorney. There are others is a similar situation such as Sally Yates and even Andrew McCabe. Remember that McCabe's book had to go through months of vetting by the FBI.
These folks deserve our respect. Putting words in their mouths doesn't demonstrate that. More importantly, they are letting the proper authorities make the demonstrative statements through their legal filings.

(33,643 posts)I'm just getting really tired of this 'measured' shit, frankly.
Nobody seems to really want to come out and say that if this report is hidden from the public, it's a HUGE RED FLAG SUGGESTING GUILT.
I really would've liked for Preet to come out firing on this one.
Seems to me he's holding back more than is necessary. He's not working for Mueller, nor even the Govt anymore. He could at least say "the American People have a right to demand that this report be made public" ... that doesn't 'give away' any privileged info.
NOBODY outside of Adam Schiff, and the handful of MSNBC liberal hosts seem to want broach this subject. They talk like 'oh, MAYBE we'll get to see it, golly seems like we should, I guess'.
I'm sick of it, from everyone. This idea should not even be remotely ENTERTAINED. But it is. Every damn day, esp. on CNN.
THE US PEOPLE NOT GETTING TO SEE THE REPORT ... SHOULD NOT BE A VIABLE OPTION (for Trump). PERIOD.
The idea that we wouldn't ... should be called A MASSIVE SCANDAL (by everyone outside of Faux, et al) at every opportunity.
MHO.
