Is he testifying voluntarily? Is there a possibility of reduction of sentence? What is his motivation?

(2,771 posts)In my opinion it allows the public to see Republicans for what they are during their questioning. It also gets it out of the horses mouth some of the things we all sort of believe anyway. It also makes it however much harder for dump and co to kill the Mueller investigation.

(53,410 posts)I suspect that the whole jail time thing is a smokescreen and that the prosecutors will give Cohn witness protection.
It just makes more sense. You cant testify against the most powerful man in the world, who also happens to be useful to the second most powerful man in the world and expect to live openly.
I dont think there is a prison anywhere that would be safe enough.

(115,836 posts)Post-sentencing reduction of a sentence is always a possibility if the person continues to cooperate with prosecutors. Whether that's his reason, or whether he is seeking revenge against Trump for discarding him after the election and later throwing him under the bus, or whether he is genuinely repentant is known only to him.
