(129,448 posts)right after Meadows whined about putting a couple in. The one Cummings added was to refute the Salon article that Meadows submitted.

(42,770 posts)Is all this going in congressional record and I can't at least read any of it??

(129,448 posts)but he's really seeing how much the GOP is willing to embrace the new mob. He's probably shaking his head. Cohen is street and these guys are playing at "street" but at a higher level.

(42,770 posts)From Dems???? Why not. There were so many times Cohen wanted to say more and people just yielded . Why not ask a final question ...open ended..and let Cohen talk??? One time Cummings completely forgot that he said he could talk. Cohen just shrugged.
Some bright stars for sure but to me, many Dems were just wasting most of their time talking.

(129,448 posts)There is one for tomorrow (closed-door) about the meat of the stuff that is directly related to the ongoing investigation (House Intelligence). There is info that they cannot put out there in a "public" hearing.

(42,770 posts)can get 10 people to change from supporting him, it'd be worth it.

(129,448 posts)mainly because his "base", if they are even bothering to follow the hearings, would be doing so through the propaganda filters of Faux and Hatenty, Limpballs and Coultergeist. However I think this past election (and the corresponding state elections in 2018) established that the dam is starting to burst and IMHO, I think there will probably be a chunk of his voters who will not vote for anyone at all... and the other rabid fans will still vote for him but there will be less of them overall.
That's about the best we can hope for - THEIR "non-voters" (many who were previously non-voters before 2016 anyway).

(42,770 posts)That it could all be laid out methodically and factually and that SOME supporters would actually get truth for once.
But sadly you are probably right. I taped the hearing on FOX and just started playback. Sure, Cohen was talking in a reduced screen, and they ran these constantly flipping graphics on the right part of screen. And across the bottom. It made it very difficult to concentrate on what he was saying. What an obvious ploy. Their viewers must be really stupid.

I watched on CSPAN3. Don't have to deal with distracting talking heads. And believe it or not, quite a few GOP voters discovered the CSPANs about 10 - 15 years ago and learned about "jamming the lines" during the regular "Washington Journal" interview/call-in program... and during other times when there are call-ins. My mom was a CSPAN junkie and it would irk her to no end to the point where she would be yelling at the hosts to keep their "feet off the call cutoff button" for Democrats while allowing Republicans to spew their b.s.!

(11,949 posts)But all the good stuff is still under investigation.
What we heard today is just the part of the iceberg you can see.
I have never held much hope in the Mueller investigation. Today changed that.
Looks like Mueller has handed off the good stuff to other branches of the Justice Department and will concentrate his report on his core mission. Finding out about Russian interference. Very smart. Cause shutting down him wont effect those investigations.
