He made myriad horrible decisions over many, many years as a learned adult. I'm glad he's turning on Trump, but I don't feel badly that he'll serve time in jail.

"Tragedy" in the classical means that the Greeks used it means someone who fell from great heights, regardless of whether or not they deserved it.

He flew too high with arrogance and hubris and has crashed to the ground.

Men like him are the very stuff of Greek, Roman, and Shakespeare plays.

We still read them because they captured the human condition.

This administration is full of men like that.

So I agree with you that the country is better off with Cohen's turning states evidence. I just can't bring myself to see Cohen as a good guy though.

Gotti wasn’t anywhere near being the most powerful man in the world, nor was he the darling of the second most powerful man in the world.

Gotti would be like a foot soldier to a President. And Sammy. “The bull” was a killer, not a lawyer or, as yet, a violent “enforcer”.

He wanted to run with the big boys, and they didn't come bigger than trump. He yearned for his approval and would do anything to appease him, even when he was treated like dirt.

He did horrible things for which I can't forgive him for, but he seems to have some redeemable qualities (he clearly loves his family, he does appear sincerely remorseful.) I hope he doesn't prove us wrong in the end.

A young sycophant taken under the wing of a seemingly powerful, but definitely corrupt man, enthusiastically went about hurting other people at the evil man's direction, gets cornered, comes clean under pressure, starts soul searching to begin to realize that none it was worth it.

Let's see whether Cohen becomes a better person like Dean did. Also hope that Cohen does not lose his wife like Dean did.
