Maybe it's because we here follow this so closely, that it seems like we pretty much already know as much as can be known at this point, but I can't help feeling let down by Cohen's testimony today. Maybe because we have been waiting so long to hear it? It didn't seem as dramatic or revelatory as it should have been.
I'm certain that there are many unasked and unanswered questions left, that should have been asked today.
Maybe it will help to compile a list of specific questions that you believe should have been asked today, or even ones that were asked but may have not been answered adequately.
I think I would have liked more pointed questions about how Trump "non-directs" his people to do his dirty work. More examples. Just really hammer at it, over and over.
Or, delve deeply into how utterly inconceivable it is that Trump didn't know about Jr's meeting. Stuff like that. Not just a "I think maybe I overheard something junior whispered to his dad" crap.
I feel Trump got off way too easy today.

(14,565 posts)Get a number like that our there. That would be an instant sound byte, perhaps the highlight of the hearing. Then ask Cohen if that number is representative of what others are expected to do for Trump. Hammer home that lying and cheating are the essence of Trump and everything he does.
I thought a severe missed opportunity was not asking Cohen about a potential 2020 campaign and if he had talked about it with Trump, or overheard Trump say anything. Ask Cohen how he thought a pathological liar like Trump would deal with a campaign in which re-election and therefore his legacy was at stake. That might have been a doozy. If Mueller goes nowhere and we're stuck with Trump running again, at least we would have words from Cohen regarding all the atrocities Trump would take during that campaign. Instead, we totally whiffed that line of questioning and merely had Cohen's words in the post-hearing interview, which is fine but not close to equivalent. Frankly I have no idea how nobody thought of that.
I wish Cohen would have quoted Lindsey Graham's early summation of Trump countless times, just like he mentioned Trump shooting someone on 5th Avenue multiple times. Then tell the Republicans on the panel they likewise have all been shamefully absorbed, just like Graham, and will treated harshly by history, whether they realize it or not.
