How Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Won the Cohen Hearing NYTimes opinion

Consider the line of questioning from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York. She asked Mr. Cohen a series of specific questions about how Mr. Trump had handled insurance claims and whether he had provided accurate information to various companies. “To your knowledge,” she asked, “did Donald Trump ever provide inflated assets to an insurance company?” He had.

...
These questions were not random, but, rather, well thought out. Like a good prosecutor, Ms. Ocasio-Cortez was establishing the factual basis for further committee investigation. She asked one question at a time, avoided long-winded speeches on why she was asking the question, and listened carefully to his answer, which gave her the basis for a follow-up inquiry. As a result, Mr. Cohen gave specific answers about Mr. Trump’s shady practices, along with a road map for how to find out more. Mr. Cohen began his testimony calling Mr. Trump a “con man and a cheat”; In just five minutes, Ms. Ocasio-Cortez actually helped him lay out the facts to substantiate those charges.

...
But as Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings’s outstanding closing remarks made clear, what we face now as a nation is so consequential, as the president faces multiple inquiries about possible collusion with a foreign power, that we need more from members of Congress. Ms. Ocasio-Cortez has many followers on social media. I hope her colleagues will start to follow her example in the hearing room.

targeted questions, a quality process - identify the problem, why is it happening (root cause if you will), who is responsible for fixing the problem, what is the solution, and what is the time frame for action....perfect set up for advancing the issues through whatever means possible in a slow turning congress....great time management on AOCs part...

Lacking experience (PRESIDENT OBAMA):

Obama's only experience was as a community activist.
Obama has only had one term as a Senator.

Outsider/business leader (IQ45)

We need someone that is not a career politician.
He will run the country like a business.

Those are examples that I remember. What is it that you are questioning?

But I have to tell you, AOC now has my attention, and kudos to her.

This article does a disservice to all the hard working Democrats on that committee.

Thu Feb 28, 2019, 11:02 PM

If you had, you would know they all made excellent points, and elicited additional leads for future interviews. Like the Trump kids, because Cohen discussed with them many times the Moscow Hotel. That he had two checks he says are proof that Trump paid him for the illegal payoff to Stormey Daniels and the other woman.

That he heard Trump discuss the Wikileaks emails over the phone with Stone.

That he had undervalued properties to lessen his taxes.

And...

* Katie Hill/Harley Rouda: These two freshman Democrats didn't get to ask questions until the hearing was already hours old, but they each stood out from their more senior colleagues in the effectiveness of what they asked. Rouda's questions on Felix Sater -- and Trump's relationship with him -- shed light on a piece of the broader story that we didn't know much about before. Hill drilled down on just how involved Trump was on the in and outs of the payout to porn star Stormy Daniels. (The answer was VERY involved.) For Hill in particular, I thought it was a star turn; expect to see more of her on cable TV in the weeks and months to come.
https://www.cnn.com/2019/02/28/politics/michael-cohen-house-oversight-russia-congress/index.html

That Trump doesn't directly direct his underlings to lie. He says what the line for the team will be: "There is no Russian business." As a way to tell his team that that's what they should say.

***OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE: That Trump and attorney Sekulow met with Cohen AFTER the raid on Cohen, and went over what Cohen's testimony would be, and made changes,

And many other facts and evidence.

It's shameful that you don't recognize the Democrats' expert interviewing of Cohen. Members of the Democratic Party usually give credit, when the representatives do an excellent job like they did. You didn't watch the entire hearing, I can tell.
