Doug Jones MAY have a chance in Alabama 2020 after all....

I love this reply

@DavidMDrucker
NEW: Roy Moore, conservative lightening rod who cost GOP a Senate seat in deep-red Alabama, is signaling fresh interest in a 2020 campaign, sparking alarm on right that @SenDougJones could be gifted another unlikely victory.

Does he have to concede the last race before he starts this one?

1. He'll never get their nomination, they'll rig the primary if they have to

The R party machine will do anything to take that seat, they know how bad the map is everywhere else in 2020

5. I don't think they'll risk a rebellion from Cult of Trump by doing that.

I think instead they'll set their sights on dropping voters from the rolls and good 'ol fashioned oppression at the polling places to win Ol' Roy the seat.

Criminal conviction has a pretty high bar to convict.

We have plenty to show at minimum a creepy and inappropriate interest on his part, but not hard proof of actual sexual acts with a someone under age. The low (16) age of consent in Alabama complicates it as well.

7. I don't think there's any real evidence against him.

It's wasn't and still isn't illegal for a man in his 30's to lurk at the mall, flirt with teenage girls, and ask them out. It's creepy as hell, but it isn't a crime in and of itself.

I wouldn't be surprised if he took his show on the road, once he started to attract attention locally. Overnight trips to Atlanta, Nashville, or some such place, where he wouldn't be recognized. There, he could pay for young women who either were underage, or who looked like it.

He wants to win a statewide race for vindication. His fundy knuckle draggers will always vote for him.
