Remember when Buzzfeed reported that Trump told Cohen to lie to Congress? It's a big deal, because that is a felony. After that happened, a Mueller spokesman issued a sort-of denial, which the rest of the media then jumped all over that denial to say that Buzzfeed had it all wrong and nothing to see here.
Well, Cohen has now testified under oath that Trump did, indeed, told him to lie to Congress. It wasn't a direct order, because that's apparently not how Trump tells his people to commit crimes like this. I'm not sure of the legal implications of this -- if a mob boss orders hits by saying "would sure be nice of something bad happened to" some person rather then "go kill their family", does that mean the mob boss is legally innocent? I don't know.
But, legalities a side, in the most meaningful sense, Trump did in fact tell Cohen to lie to congress about the Moscow Tower. So Buzzfeed was right on that story. Hopefully the people in the media who expressed skepticism will concede this.

(33,643 posts)I strongly suspected Buzzfeed was correct in terms of the 'spirit', and Mueller's team was correct in terms of the 'letter'.
