The House intelligence community intends to call the Trump Organizations chief financial officer to testify, the Daily Beast reports.
Allen Weisselberg received renewed congressional attention after disgraced Trump fixer Michael Cohen on Wednesday repeatedly mentioned the Trump Org CFO as crucial to various aspects of dubiously legal practices by the president, from the Stormy Daniels hush-money payments to potential insurance fraud.

(180 posts)He was granted a very specific immunity related to his involvement in the hush money payments. Cohen had already implicated him on the tape recording when he discussed the matter with Trump. Prosecutors gave Weisselberg immunity only for his involvement in making/approving the reimbursement payments to Cohen. He was to corroborate the information the prosecutors already received from Cohen.
Unless there has been new developments today, Weisselberg is still an open target of any other criminal matters. That would include several topics Cohen discussed yesterday at his Hearing (insurance/bank fraud, the Trump Foundation, officer fiduciary duties when he signs fraudulent financial statements, etc.).

(37,648 posts)He owes his wealth to the Trump family. They have instructed him and relied on him for decades.
If the Trumps did illegal things with their finances, so did this guy. He may have even advised them to do the things they did. After all, how would they know? They're not the brightest bulbs in the room.
The danger is that if he lied before, he's trapped in those lies.
