Just got a letter from my insurance company. It's increasing another $70 a month, putting me up to over $400 a month!! I barely even use it and I'm only in my 30s. I was told by a health insurance expert that my plan is actually the cheapest for me.
That is absolutely insane.

(4,441 posts)I'm only paying $100 monthly for ACA but have a $6,500 deductible, so any substantial medical care is going to work out to around $500 a month, and that's on top of the $1,200 annual premium. I tell people the coverage is great as long as I don't actually use it.
Health care in the US is a fucking cruel joke.

I think we have to get to some kind of critical mass before we can change it. Is there even one state where people can afford decent healthcare?

(11,909 posts)We deserve single-payer/comprehensive Medicare for All. A bill was just introduced by Rep. Jayapal. Please also contact Nancy Pelosi's office to ask her to support it.
