House freshman Tom Malinowski (D-NJ) to introduce bill blaming Kim Jong Un for Otto Warmbier death

Rep. Tom Malinowski (D-N.J.) announced Friday he intends to introduce a bill officially blaming North Korean leader Kim Jong Un for the death of U.S. student Otto Warmbier.

“I’ll be introducing a bipartisan resolution next week affirming that Congress holds Kim Jong Un responsible for the death of Otto Warmbier,” Malinowski tweeted.

President Trump sparked a furor when he said he believed Kim was unaware of Warmbier’s treatment.

The student was detained in North Korea for taking down a poster while studying there in 2016. He was sentenced to 15 years of hard labor but returned to the United States in a comatose state in 2017 and died shortly after.

“He tells me he didn’t know about it, and I take him at his word,” Trump said Thursday during a denuclearization summit with Kim.

He was interviewed on Lawrence tonight. They knew each other when they both worked for Sen. Moynihan!

Spanky's Hanoi failure already pushed back the stabilization/"denuclearization" of North Korea significantly. I'm just relieved that negotiation is not completely ruled out just yet. Will this bill set back negotiations even further, especially if it passes?

If Rep. Malinowski does proceed with his bill, I hope he can get Fred and Cindy Warmbier to publicly advocate for it.

So we might as well show Kim that at least part of our government isn't going to roll over for him.

I do think there's a minute possibility that the country will become a self-contained dictatorship that will not even use the threat of nuclear force against other countries especially with Moon-Jae In as South Korean president and with Un being only around 35 years old now. I just don't want to go back to the hear-tearing idiocy of "Fire and Fury".
