Chicago mayor's race heats up with attack ads that blast a 'wealthy lawyer' and city 'machine' politics

Mayoral candidates Lori Lightfoot and Toni Preckwinkle intensified days of sniping after Tuesdays election with dueling campaign ads that will hit airwaves this weekend.
Lightfoots spot recounts her campaigns call for change and rails against the citys machine politics. An attack ad from Preckwinkle, released just hours after her rivals camp unveiled its six-figure television buy, blasts Lightfoots legal career.
The 30-second commercials unveiled Friday suggest Chicago is in store for a heated campaign as two African-American rivals charge toward an April 2 electoral showdown.
Both women are competing for endorsements and campaign cash in a newly narrowed field. Getting on the air is a critical step for the candidates to re-establish their political identity or highlight their opponents weaknesses
