Reporter Jane Mayer came out Monday with a bombshell article probing the symbiotic relationship between President Donald Trump and Fox News and she said their shared business model is undermining U.S. democracy.
The New Yorker investigative journalist appeared on MSNBCs Morning Joe to discuss the article, and she said her reporting found the relationship between the president and his favorite channel was even closer than it appeared.
Mayer said the president and Fox News worked together to amplify their messages.
Then I describe how Fox puts on what it does on the news, which is shocking in many ways, Mayer added. I mean, taking stuff straight off of the most crackpot blogs. Dont take it me, take it from the people who are quoted from Fox saying so.

(7,432 posts)We can talk about it on blogs and news sites, but to have a journalist carefully articulate the issue for the general public is a step in the right direction. Mayer is exposing the meta-message, and that's very important.

Even if it was illegal, it's just one more crime that Trump won't be punished for.

(15,805 posts)From Trump's rabid fans to Fox news brainwashed audience, any scathing news reporting that criticises their parasitic relationship will be swiftly categorized as "fake news" and summarily dismissed.
It's a lost cause. These impressionable people are as mesmerized and spellbound by Trump's sinister Svengali-like influence as they would fall prey to the religious hucksters who fleece their wallets in exchange for vague promises to deliver their heart's desire. Fox is the glue that confirms Trump's craziness is perfectly normal, redirecting suspicions to their opposition.
