(3,344 posts)It's not a good sign for Roger that Mueller's team wants to mention it to the judge.

(11,738 posts)Trumpers are so gullible and ready to be angered, that they will likely think that Stone is being sent to jail unjustly. Stone thinks that he can be just like G. Gordon Liddy or Oliver North who got busted then came out as huge celebrities in that sewer they call the conservative movement.

(82,849 posts)No sense letting Stone off the hook because the prosecutor filed something in open court that should have been filed under seal. If it's not appropriate for withholding from the public file, the court will unseal it on its own motion.

(17,168 posts)He hasn't taken down his criticisms of Mueller. I wonder if this also breaks the terms of the gag order.
https://whoframedrogerstone.com/
Despite a lack of evidence of Russian Collusion, Wikileaks collaboration or any other illegal activity in the 2016 election, long time Trump advisor Roger Stone has been targeted by Special Counsel Robert Mueller. Mueller seeks to criminalize normal political activities by Roger Stone while ignoring the blatantly illegal activities of the Clinton campaign and the Obama NSA,DOJ and FBI.
Roger Stone refuses to be pressured into testifying against President Trump. His legal fees in this epic fight could top $2 million, threatening to destroy him and his family.

A small part of me is thinking he's purposely bringing this on himself - for some sort of convoluted PR/martyr/publicity reason. I mean, how clear could Judge ABJ have been? How do you not follow her specific instructions unless you really are an idiot?

(37,648 posts)She has no choice but to jail him. If she doesn't, she needs to be removed from the case for being unable to handle this high profile case of a mobster.
janx
(24,128 posts)She will have to, yes.

(42,714 posts)I'm curious. Who do you think will remove Judge Jackson for exercising her discretion regarding the enforcement of her own order?
And when they remove her for not being able to handle "this high profile case of a mobster" do you think they should remove her from the Manafort case, where she is scheduled to issue her sentencing order next week?
Pffft....
Onedit: For the record I think she should and will order him jailed (just as she ordered Manafort jailed). But if she doesn't, it isn't proof she's incapable of handling this case.
Honeycombe8
(37,648 posts)Usually one side or the other requests it. Or the public can insist on it.
It's clear:
(1) She's dealing with a mobster. Not a normal criminal.
(2) It's clear that the mobster took her not jailing him for violating her order (remember that he ALREADY violated her direct order), he took that for weakness. She didn't even hit him with a fine. She sent him off with "You've been a bad boy. Time Out. Go stand in the corner until your trial."
(3) If she is "weak" again, he will be running the case and doing what he likes. Her orders will become meaningless, because there will be no accountability for his violating them.
This is reality. It's like those "nice" judges that for years let stalkers go free because he hadn't done anything illegal, only for the stalker to kill or throw acid in the face of his victim. Now, judges take a stronger stance, after public pressure.
onenote
(42,714 posts)It's particularly embarrassing to see something that uninformed on DU.
No. The public has no standing to demand anything. And Stone's lawyers aren't going to demand her removal is she doesn't jail Stone. And neither is Mueller, particularly if doesn't want to screw up his Manafort case.
