"SNIP.....

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) said that she would defer the question of whether the House should initiate impeachment proceedings against President Trump to party leadership, The Hillreports.

Said Ocasio-Cortez: “I’ve always been very clear that I’m supportive and how I would vote in terms of impeachment. I understand that leadership may want to build a stronger case and subpoena more records or figure out what’s happening, perhaps in the Mueller investigation.”

......SNIP"

1. I think that's an excellent point of view on her part.

She sees and understands that the time is not yet right for talk of impeachment.

We may not need it, after all.

Best to keep our options open till the point becomes inevitable.

she could have said, "We need to impeach now! What are they waiting for!?!" There are people who try to portray AOC as a loose cannon with little impulse control. The reality is that she is new and learning her way, and has had celebrity thrust on her (some by her own hand). She is however, very bright and has pretty good political IQ for being newer to elected office.

It was a good answer.

13. Guess so. She's progressing well in her job. Did great at the Cohen hearing.

Frankly though, I hope she stays away from primarying incumbent Dems. We need to keep the House and Dems in red districts have a different challenge to keep their seat than those in bluer districts.

15. I agree. The media loves to pit women against each other.

The good thing is that both women are smart and don't fall for the media's attempt to stoke controversy. If things proceed as they seem to be, the media will get tired of Pelosi and AOC pretty much doing their jobs and being good representatives and they will move on to the next shiny object.

4. Headline is putting words in her mouth.

She says she's supportive of impeachment but understands the leadership wants a stronger case. She's not exactly saying she'll vote however Pelosi votes.

That's also not a snippet of an article. Those two paragraphs are the entire article.

7. No, she literally said she would defer to leadership.

"'I defer to the chair. I defer to party leadership,' she added."

Try clicking on the link in the article - it's in the first sentence. That's what the headline is referring to.

I hope any talk from her about supporting primary opponents of more moderate congress members from moderate or conservative leaning districts will stop as well.

The most moderate democrat is better than any republican!
