Lawyers claiming to be associated with Rudy Giuliani reached out to Michael Cohen after he was raided and nobody is talking about a potential crime that is being investigated in the Southern District of New York involving Trump.
The sources familiar with the contacts said the two lawyers first reached out to Cohen late in April of last year and that the discussions continued for about two months. The attorneys, who have no known formal ties to the White House, urged Cohen not to leave the joint defense agreement, the sources told ABC News, and also offered a Plan B. In the event Cohen opted to exit the agreement, they could join his legal team and act as a conduit between Cohen and the presidents lawyers.
At one point in the discussions, one of the attorneys sent Cohen a phone screenshot to prove they were in touch with Giuliani, the sources said.
That is strange, but it gets weirder.
Here is Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthis answer when he was asked by MSNBCs Chris Hayes if Cohens closed-door testimony before the House Intelligence Committee provided more details on what the SDNY is investigating:

There is a big shoe about to drop, and the breadcrumbs suggest that Trump and Giuliani have been using non-affiliated attorneys to reach out to witnesses and defendants to try to keep them quiet and onboard with Trump. In other words, the President Of The United States may be trying to silence witnesses and obstruct justice. - PoliticusUSA

(51,608 posts)Fed crimes (from either Mueller or SDNY) are pardonable. Crimes committed in the state of NY and prosecuted by the NY state AG are NOT pardonable. That may be the only way we get rid of him...through the state and not the city, right?

(26,060 posts)Federal charges=pardonable. State charges (coming from anywhere in the state=not pardonable except by the governor.

(22,037 posts)The city crimes wouldn't amount to much, most likely.
But the New York State charges could have stiffer penalties than Federal charges. Importantly, only the NY Governor could pardon or commute any charges or sentences. Democrat Andrew Cuomo is unlikely to show Trump any mercy if he is petitioned.

I suspect that most of his "executive time" is now spent trying to keep all the spinning plates in the air, hoping that no one spills the beans and implicates him in yet more crimes.
I can't imagine that even the Mofia would have so many illegal schemes going at the same time, or be nearly as incompetent in managing their criminal enterprises.
