Is there a progressive billionaire in the U.S.? We need one to fund

some competition to the RW billionaires (and multi-millionaires). I know I have heard of a couple who aren't terrible but are any actively doing things to make things better. Not just talking but building and creating and funding? I would love to know who they are. We need them to step up.

product that is sorely needed. A plant or plants producing affordable (I mean really affordable Elon) electric cars. The workers would be paid a living wage, etc. Vaccines or other drugs that are not being produced because they do not provide enough profit might be produced. The owner would have to get the rights or make a deal, etc.

Health care plans could be available that would provide competition to the status quo insurers and provide care to those most in need.

Good food could be produced and provided to food deserts.

Money would be lost, of course. But a dedicated multi billionaire could do very much for their fellow humans for years. A billion dollars is a lot of money.

I am sure there are many other examples of things that could be done....all the way to more news outlets that tell the truth without having to rely on "commercials" to developing new technology and deploying it to produce clean power or suck CO2 out of the air. Infrastructure anyone? Do the work and provide the workers a fair wage.

Oh, and child care that is available more or less around the clock and is super affordable. That is really needed. Until the government can step in like in civilized countries, a billionaire could prime the pump.

Etc, etc, etc. I can dream, can't I? Bezos? He won't pay a fair wage and he has destroyed countless jobs. Sad.

Most all sociopaths are Republican for obvious reasons. Finding one who is willing to sacrifice his own wealth for the good of the whole is rare. That's why there are so few billionaires that are Democrats. But we do have a few. George Soros,Nick Hanauer,James Simos and Tom Steyer come to mind.

and we need to do whatever is required ourselves. And any can BE among us who wish.

That's, of course, besides the reality that we've allowed them to take far too much of our national wealth and we need to take it back.

Btw, my husband and I are definitely what are being called "grass-roots" givers in our fixed-income years. I don't remember the last time I stopped at Starbucks on the way home, but it was before 2015 and I started diverting that money to the DCCC or one of the other destinations.

Nancy Pelosi on being sworn in: As Justice Brandeis said, “We may have democracy, or we may have wealth concentrated in the hands of a few, but we can’t have both.”

winning the next election in a landslide of monumental proportions. Then a lot of old rules and regs need to be changed. If done right, we have hope. Perilous times.
