Plus she is divorced, something they don't see as a positive in a royal even thought Prince Charles is divorced. She has been a huge target the past few months. I think it got worse after they announced she was pregnant.

5. Right after Harry and Meghan's wedding I started following a bit

I've never been much of a royal watcher, but visited a random website to see close up pics of the lovely tiara she wore. It was a fun, lighthearted, very civil site with kind posters who just liked to oooh and ahhh over the fashion choices and gorgeous jewelry of all the royal families around the world. I became a daily visitor/lurker.

Then, a couple months ago (in Dec, I think it was?), the admin suddenly shut down commenting and put the site on hiatus. Pretty sure it was because of an influx of nasty and racist comments about Meghan.

It got bad when she announced her pregnancy and kept getting worse. The comments weren't from regulars, but from random assholes who apparently had nothing better to do than be assholes. Moderating must have become a nightmare.

7. "Psychiatric wards overwhelmed as Daily Mail readers try to like brown-skinned immigrant"

Many Daily Mail readers have suffered severe mental breakdowns when faced with the idea of sycophantically fawning over someone they would normally be subjecting to thinly veiled racist abuse in the MailOnline comments section.

Dr Tinnock, head of Psychiatry at Tunbridge Wells Royal Infirmary said that his service was expecting more catatonic curtain-twitchers in the build-up to the wedding.

“It’s too much for them. On the one hand, Harry is their favourite royal after Philip because of that German uniform photo and because he’s machine-gunned Muslims from a helicopter.

“On the other hand, she’s not only a confident black woman but she campaigns for gender equality. They don’t have the mental flexibility to assess them as a couple.”
