I have gone back to the same place a couple times. They remember me and don;t seem offended, so I guess it was okay!

COncierge staff should get $10-20 per day especially if they're providing extra services.

Concierge floors are expected to give higher level service, so they don't generally expect a tip unless they go out of their way to get you a difficult restaurant reservation or book a big tour.

Most of our higher end guests gives some of the staff bonuses at like Christmas time. I don't think you should feel obligated to tip all 6 staff members $40. Either just tip the staff that you regularly interact with, or maybe just give $10-15 to each for their service.

Yes, I interact with all of them regularly so it looks like 10/day at Christmas will be it.

..im just thinking of the cruises we took and the price included all gratuities.....but still........ so we always left an envelope with 50$ each to the wine guy the concierge and the two room attendants. All other services....such as bartenders..were tipped at time of service.

I also remember reading about the culture around Downton Abbey. The house hold staff and the family had an agreement: 'Thank you's' and other forms of appreciation were never expressed at the time of the service. They were always expressed to the servants personally at the end of the evening. All expected and appreciated this as it saved a lot of unnecessary chatter during the day.

after all the primary purpose of business tax deductions is so the rich can spend all their money and get it back at tax time.

I couldn't tell you where I learned that but that's always been my rule of thumb.
