<The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is asking the public for any leads after the body of an unidentified young, Black girl was discovered partially stuffed inside a duffle bag that was left near a hiking trail in Hacienda Heights, Calif. on Tuesday.
According to Refinery29, Los Angeles County workers made the horrifying discovery while doing maintenance on an equestrian trail area. It is her believed that her body was left there sometime late Sunday evening.
“It’s a horrible tragic case our investigators are working diligently on to solve,” Homicide Lt. Scott Hoglund said in a press conference on Wednesday. “We are looking for any lead. If you wish to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers is a great option — you can remain anonymous and report what you may know.”
Hoglund also said that the department has reached out to the Department of Children’s Services, school districts and missing child organizations to try and identify the girl, who is believed to be between the ages of 8 and 13 years old. Police say that the child was approximately 4’5? tall and weighed about 55 pounds. She was found wearing a long-sleeved pink shirt with the words “future princess hero” stylized on it, as well as grey panda print leggings.
Investigators revealed that there were no signs of trauma found on the young girls’ body. Police will investigate the case as a “suspicious death” until a confirmed cause of death is given by the medical examiner.>

LOS ANGELES — The body of a young girl whose body was discovered in a duffel bag near a Los Angeles-area hiking trail last week has been identified, and two persons of interest were being held for questioning Sunday about her death.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said the county coroner identified the girl as Trinity Love Jones, 9, of Los Angeles County. Authorities did not provide more detail about where in the county she lived.
Jones' body was found in a black duffel bag on March 5 by maintenance workers near an equestrian and hiking trail in Hacienda Heights, California, about 20 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.

That poor little girl. She had barely started her life and some evil psychopath decided to end it. Sometimes, I really hate this world.

Emiel Lamar Hunt, 38, was charged with one count of murder in the death of Trinity Love Jones, 9, prosecutors said. He's believed to be the boyfriend of the girl's mother.
Authorities arrested Hunt on Saturday while he slept in his vehicle in a parking lot near San Diego International Airport, officials said.
