For every Loreena Bobbitt, there's a hundred thousand women who have been beaten, raped, hospitalized, and murdered by a man they knew. Possibly a relative. And never once raised a hand to their attacker.

For every woman who comes forward and reports abuse, tens of thousands remain silent, either out of fear or some misplaced sense of shame or guilt (usually perpetuated by religion).

For ever woman who reports rape, tens of thousands never get their day in court or see their rapist even arrested, much less made to pay for their crime. FYI: currently in this country, there is a backlog of rape kits unprocessed, going back TEN TEARS in some jurisdictions.

It's only a editorial cartoon. It's purpose it to make people think. Sometimes about things that cannot be remedied. Nobody was directing anyone to actually do it.
