Words matter. Politics matter. Freshmen members of Congress better learn that

We've now had waaay too many news cycles dedicated to Omar's comments.

I saw someone - I think on the ABC This Week panel note that other members of Congress had talked to her in the past about discussing issues.

If I were Pelosi, I would have already done it again by now. We don't need this bullshit.

Yes the media to blame for running with it over and over, but we KNOW that will happen. She's a politician now and she - along with the other freshmen and veteran politicians need to act like it.

What they do is political. They need to think about how they discuss issues. Nobody is perfect, but this was a mess.

Quite honestly, the GOP is going to make a fuss about something. If they want to waste news cycles on a comment made by a junior member of congress, so be it. The issue isn't going to switch alot of voters. Heck, the party made an issue out of a tan suit for good god's sake. They'll always find something. In the end, the only thing that's really going to matter is the candidate themselves and this noise will be nothing more than fodder for the news channels.

Rep Omar could have a photo op of her posing with a child, a pony, and a unicorn, all munching on cotton candy, and with fluffy clouds and rainbows in the background, and the republicans would take issue with it. Ponies munching on cotton candy? How stupid could this Somalian terrorist be? Does she hate ponies? And is that an American pony or a Islamic terrorist pony? What's under that pony's blanket? And that gay symbol in the background? Is she a secret gay lesbo?

She isn't going to make any friends. Nor is AOC. And maybe Speaker Pelosi could find a way to channel their energy and their tendency to generate some degree of chaos, even if they are talking about the weather. But if not, so be it.

we have had firebrand Senators and Congress People before and we will have more in the future.

Please read these persons full statements before judging them.

We all have seen similar before. The Right Wing Echo Chamber once again created a bogey man scenario in order to spread brown skin hatred.

We need to make them pay for their indifference at the polls.
