Swindles of this sort have been around as long as there have been suckers to fall for them. Preying on peoples' greed and gullibility is a tried and true method of taking their money. The Nigerian scammers actually have a name for the knuckleheads who get taken. They call them "Magas", which apparently is the word meaning knucklehead in the Yoruba language. That desire for instant riches is so strong that it overcomes all other rational thought processes. Right, out of the billions of people in the world, the fickle finger of fate has selected YOU to have the opportunity of a lifetime to assist the poor family of the former Defense Minister of the Republic of Congo. Remember, people this dumb get to vote too-and their vote counts just as much as yours. On the positive side, they probably can't remember what day the election is being held.
