What Is The Controversy Around This Navy Seals Book?...

Without sounding too niave - is it pro or anti Obama? Is this a swiftboating job? Is he putting himself and his fellow raiders in harms way? Don't the military have to ok it before release for security reasons?

I think I read that the Obama admin. says they just found out about it. The author supposedly ran it by an attorney who knows about these things to make sure he was legal.

I'm thinking that since Fox outed the killer of OBL, that the book is pro Obama or they would not have outed him and risked his life in that way.

A Seal guy publishing a book on 9/11... without vetting... is rather insane.

I can't believe this is a soldier who is just trying to tell the truth.

For Fox to compromise themselves by saying his name is a huge risk on their part.

It could turn out that the Seal is actually going to disparage the President somehow, and that this is basically a swift boat attempt with Fox trying to hedge early after building up the story.

Either way, it is VERY unusual for a guy like this to publish a book without some vetting taking place.

The author apparently did not get approval prior to publication, which is required.

Though done under a pseudonym, Fox News published his real name.

Without reading it, it is too soon to say if its pro or anti Obama.

From what I've gleamed no one knows what's in this book and we'll "find out" on 9/11. Whomever the publicist is deserves every dime he/she earned on this one. The fact faux jumped at it makes me very leery and am in the camp with those who think that the book will be very controversial...and faux is getting out front to amp up the visibility further.

There is a concerted effort to slime this President over OBL and his handling of the military/foreign affairs. Methinks a bunch of Bob Perry and Adelson money is behind this and the slimers will do whatever they can to get into the news...sell some books and movie tickets...and attempt to neutralize President Obama's successes in the process. Time will tell if this effort is successful...and will hinge on how the cables deal with it. Should these shitstains be given any credibility (and spending several millions in advertising time could do that) may turn this into a major problem in the last month of the campaign.
