Trump accuses media of editing photos of first lady to stoke Fake Melania conspiracy theoryBy CAITLIN OPRYSKO 03/13/2019 10:48 AM EDT
The unfounded Fake Melania theory, which purports that the first lady uses a stand-in to appear at certain events alongside the president, resurfaced on Twitter this week following the Trumps trip to Alabama and was further amplified when the panel on ABCs The View devoted a segment to discussing the theory.
The Fake News photoshopped pictures of Melania, then propelled conspiracy theories that its actually not her by my side in Alabama and other places, Trump claimed Wednesday in a tweet. They are only getting more deranged with time!
The president offered no evidence to support his claim that members of the media had intentionally photoshopped images of the first lady in order to stir controversy a move that would amount to a major ethical breach on the part of a press outlet.

(82,849 posts)The Melbot 3000 will come out, repeating "Be Best, Be Best, Be Best" while a curl of smoke goes up from the back of her head and a whiff of ozone hangs in the air. Some luckless Secret Service agent will be blown to pieces when he grabs the Melbot and attempts to whisk it away from the cameras.

(15,018 posts)Logic is not strong in The Donald.
I think it is more likely that when people say "It doesn't look like her" they are comparing heavily made up, heavily controlled, staged/planned photo op photos with less controlled, more informal photos. And the discrepancy is larger than people initially appreciate -- because they underestimate how fake she and Donald are when they know they will be on camera. Everything from the height of their shoes to the density of their hair to the texture of their skin is up for manipulation if you give them time to prepare.

(7,947 posts)This is so abnormal, a president who spends most of his time nursing grievances and tweeting his hatred.
And on the day his campaign manager gets sentenced AND indicted on multiple corruption counts... and there's a new allegation of a huge illegal campaign donation NOT for his earlier campaign, but his 2020 campaign-- and from "a fugitive playboy" who has been trying to buy influence all over the globe to get out of his billion-dollar-scam charges. -- BROIDY (remember him? the "other" Michael Cohen client?) was involved.
Same guy== Jho Low -- dealing with Broidy AND now donating $100K to Trump.

A top republican donor close to President Donald Trump tried to negotiate a $75 million fee from the man at the center of the 1MDB scandal if he could get the U.S. to stop investigating the Malaysian state investment fund, the Wall Street Journal reports.
Elliott Broidy, a longtime Republican donor, and his wife, Robin Rosenzweig, discussed setting up a consulting contract with Jho Low, who has been accused of embezzling state funds, the WSJ, according to emails that the publication reviewed.
One email showed a proposal that would have given Broidy and his wife $75 million if they got the Justice Department to drop its probe into 1MDB.
