USC Ready To Take Action Against Lori Loughlin's Daughter Olivia Jade

https://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2019/03/13/olivia-jade-usc-college-bribery-scandal/
March 13, 2019 at 6:28 pmFiled Under:Los Angeles News, Olivia Jade Giannulli

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) – The fallout from the nationwide college admission scheme continued Wednesday with USC announcing it’s reviewing the applications of students involved in the scandal, which includes Olivia Jade Giannulli, the daughter of actress Lori Loughlin.

USC released the following statement:

“Applicants in the current admissions cycle who are connected to the scheme alleged by the government will be denied admission to USC. We are going to conduct a case-by-case review for current students and graduates that may be connected to the scheme alleged by the government. We will make informed, appropriate decisions once those reviews have been completed. Some of these individuals may have been minors at the time of their application process.” USC has not released information on what specific actions would be taken as a result of the review.

Loughlin was in federal court Wednesday in Los Angeles, where she and her husband Mossimo Giannulli are accused of paying $500,000 in order for their two daughters to be designated as recruits to the USC crew team – despite the fact that neither of them ever participated in crew, the indictment claims. Loughlin was later released on $1 million bond, the same amount on which Giannulli was released Tuesday.

Loughlin’s 19-year-old daughter, Olivia Jade, posted a video on social media last year in which she said she doesn’t “really care about school.” She is currently a freshman at USC. “I don’t know how much of school I’m going to attend,” she said in a video posted to her YouTube channel, which has over 1.9 million subscribers. “I do want the experience of game days, partying, I don’t really care about school, as you guys know.”

40. The USC Young Republicans organized that stunt against Mondale
Thu Mar 14, 2019, 01:16 PM
Mar 2019

I was well aware of it because I roomed with one of them two years earlier when he was a sophomore. That guy would sleep through all of his morning classes but he was rabid while supporting Deukmejian over Bradley. Long hours every night. He would drop into the room only briefly and then depart again.

That was the first indication I had regarding political activists and the extremes they would take. Two years later when I heard about the Mondale situation a friend of mine who was still in school said that our old roommate Alan had organized the thing and was bragging about how effective it had been.

Anyway, USC is a great school. Incredible camaraderie and opportunities. My journalism professors were big shots in the industry itself, often relaying anecdotes of what decisions they made that day while putting out the various sections. Classes were never boring plus I was writing sports for the school paper and interviewing legends like Ronnie Lott and Marcus Allen along the way. I don't mind the knocks on USC in this thread because they are typical for the types who frantically react to day to day news instead of calmly evaluating the big picture. It reminds me of the ridicule of Florida as a lost cause in political terms, even though any competent evaluation of Florida holds it as a state that defaults 1-2 points red and is exponentially more available than some state like Texas, for example.

On edit: I should emphasize that I did not pick out Alan as roommate. I didn't know the guy. He was a mid year replacement at Troy Hall after our prior roommate moved out. We had 4 guys initially, two on the water polo team, myself as the sportswriter, and then the Asian bookworm who didn't like to do anything else except ride his girlfriend every night. Once the Asian guy figured out he didn't fit it he moved elsewhere and Alan eventually replaced him.

Did your parent attend SC?

Seemed like the whole process was to make sure to pass legacy students.

She was a highly paid Instagram influencer. By faking her way to college she's destroyed her brand. Perhaps beyond repair (although America loves a come back story). I have no idea why, although my guess is, so she could make Olivia in college type posts. Reality entertainment is all about the moving story lines and creating plot lines, I assume that's why she was in school. Most reality stars don't commit a felony, though, for the sake of entertainment plot lines. Most...

“Game days. Partying. I don’t really care about school.”

What a spoiled snot-nosed brat! Well, princess, if you don’t really care about school, then GET THE FUCK OUT!!! That prized space you’re occupying that you don’t even begin to deserve rightfully belongs to some other kid who takes that level of education seriously, DAMMIT!

GET THE FUCK OUT!!!! So SOMEBODY MORE DESERVING can enroll in that school and take that slot, DAMMIT!

DAMN IT! When I think of how I damn near broke my fucking neck studying to make grades in hopes of getting into a good school - to try to make something of myself. The “game days and partying” I DIDN’T do or go to because I was too busy trying to keep up my grade point average. Too busy studying, reading, writing, working my ass off to keep getting those A’s.

Night after night of all-nighters. Studying and studying and studying some more. All the papers and essays and reports I agonized over. All the notes I made and study guides I put together during exam weeks. Man, I must have filled a hundred spiral notebooks with notes preparing for tests. Color-coding topics and subtopics with a slew of colored markers so I could find any fact at a glance. Good Grief I worked! Nothing was just handed to me on some fancy designer plate. I worked my tail off!

I’m so angry I feel like I could actually catch fire! That spoiled little shit should go wait tables in some cheap dive for a couple of years and try to earn some money to help pay her own way at some institution that may not have a marquee name or glittering rosters of billionaires stuffing their endowment accounts but could still provide her with a respectable higher education. Maybe she’d learn to appreciate the value of an education for which many kids would give everything they owned.

I hope she’s shamed off that campus and fucking EXPELLED. MAN does she ever need to do some learning!

Sorry for the rant. But MAN this one hit me HARD!

My husband and I have this saying - “...but he/she photographs well.” That’s usually in reference to the nauseating trend mainly in television news and infotainment - where brains or quick wit don’t seem nearly as important as a pretty face. You can be a card-carrying idiot or semi-literate, but MAN-oh-MAN if you look good on camera, You. Are. SET.

In this case, with our little princess here, and others like her, part of the process involved online researchers carefully sifting photos of athletes, and finding just the right photo into which to photoshop the rich kid’s face, correct the color and shading, and then Voila! You have Her Spoiled Highness sitting in the rowboat (as the crew athlete she really isn’t), or posing in the “sport” which the applicant-poseur claims as a specialty.

But hey - isn’t this the new republi-CON way? Cheat to win?

Oh, excuse me - she’s an “influencer” - who “vlogs” on Instagram with more than a million followers about makeup and clothes.

https://www.thecut.com/2019/03/lori-loughlin-daughter-olivia-jade-college-vlogger.html

So let’s give her a medal then, ‘eh? I was pleased to see that one of her “sponsors” has dropped her. I guess if you’re young, cute, slim, rich, and connected, you can busy yourself building your “brand.”

https://www.thecut.com/2019/03/olivia-jade-could-lose-sponcon-deals-amid-college-scandal.html?_gl=1*1bj2lvn*_ga*YW1wLUF2NHVPSDUwZExSS295MVlRWlY0VXRsckl1b0ZlSmVSRUJ5U1J2Tzhud21ma0lfY1pfZENBMDJjLW9GdnVhRzk.

Btw I learned all kinds of things reading through this shit. “Spon-con” - or sponsored content - that allowed her to link up with HP (which has terminated its relationship with her), Sephora, TRESemme hair care products, Marc Jacobs Beauty, Amazon, Dolce & Gabbana and more (?!?!?!!).

He hosted dick cheney for dinner and other visits frequently during the bush/cheney era, causing miserable traffic tie-ups all over the place - because of course everything had to grind to a halt so dickie’s entourage could motorcade swiftly through town in style and comfort.

BIG-ASS donor to the CONS.

Right now, he's selling real estate in Savannah, Georgia.

He's incredibly successful and happy, but IMHO going to USC was a waste of money.

I, on the other hand, attended The USC (the University of South Carolina) Law School before tuition went sky high, and graduated without any debt. In fact, I had enough extra money to get a commercial pilot's license.

Guess which one turned out to be more satisfying. A hint: when you finish a flight, the airplane doesn't climb into your mind and keep you awake all night trying to figure out what to do next to keep your crazy client out of trouble. The airplane stays parked on the ramp.
