Ladies and Gentlemen; I am now...a Republican

My policy positions and my support for candidates are exactly the same as they were, but based on the Socialism discussions here, I've learned that I can freely redefine economic and political terms at will. I hereby decide that "Republican" means support for Republics over Monarchies, so Republican it is. Feel free to challenge my logic.

7. I do remember your post some time ago - that rump's tax policies would benefit you and your wife.

You took a lot of heat for that post if I remember.

But in context of that it makes sense you would feel this way I guess.

Big "R" Republican is a political party. It has a membership but it is not an ideology. A Republican is someone who believes republics are better than either monarchies or democracies. I actually believe we have too much democracy and not enough republican structure and the structure we do have is unfairly or wrongly applied.

Now, if you did this to someone who didn't want it up their butt, you're probably a republican.

...at least regarding specific issues, which sometimes makes me feel a bit like a political orphan. On the other hand, regarding the current GOP, I am a wild-eyed radical, who favors extreme actions to save democracy. We're all human beings, and not automatons...though some folks make you wonder. My Mom, now deceased, was a tough twelfth-generation CT Yankee, and while she voted straight Dem her whole life called herself a "non-conforming traditionalist". I rather like it when people redefine themselves. I might even call myself a "Republican" once in awhile, using your sense of the word...

Republican means petty hateful mean bigoted greedy dishonest Trump loving sycophant

If that's what you want to be so be it but I wouldn't wish that on anybody
